KC Concepcion’s upcoming movie with dad Gabby is now in progress
Gabby Concepion and his daughter KC have just started their acting workshop for their upcoming movie yesterday, January 19, but they were already required to bring out whatever hidden feelings they have for each other. Given their painful past, KC revealed that it paved the way for them to resolve the issues that they never had the courage to say out loud before this happened. So medyo sobra akong napiga. Kasi matagal na palang nararamdaman saka lang siya lumabas,” she said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN reporters.
Aside from pretending to be a three-year old kid who’s being showered with love and attention by her father, there were also a lot of emotionally charged scenes that the two portrayed as part of their training with their facilitator Gina Alajar and Director Chito Roño.“You have to trust kung sino yung mga kasama mo sa workshop. KC further shared that it was only now that she learned how deeply affected Gabby was with his formerly estranged relationship with her and her mom Sharon Cuneta. “Kasi minsan ‘di ba nakakalimutan na lang natin or we try to forget yung mga masasakit na nangyari sa atin para masaya lang, para walang isyu. E napakawalang isyu ko na tao siguro in general kaya nabigla ako nung kailangang ibalik yun.”
Apparently, they never had confrontations in real life which is why it’s quite difficult for KC to express her hidden disappointments towards her father for the sake of their movie.
Working with her father is more than just ‘a dream come true for KC because she never thought that it would be possible to begin with. “It’s not a heavy drama movie pero dahil siguro sa mga pinagdaanan namin feeling ko magiging malaman yung scenes. Surface pa lang ngayon e. Mas marami pang lalabas na hindi namin pinaplano siguro as the shooting progresses. Kasi sa totoo lang napaka-busy niyang tao. Kapag nagkikita kami usually over lunch or dinner, mabilis lang. Parang ok, ‘Hi! Bye!’ tawanan, ganon. So first time talaga ngayon na medyo nakababad kami sa isa’t isa. More than anything I am just excited to get to know him more and rebuild our relationship ngayon na eto na kami, eto na yung pinagdadaanan namin pareho.”
Since it’s going to be her second film under Star Cinema, KC claimed that she’s more confident that they would be offering something that the viewers should really watch out for. “Ang Star Cinema, they have the best scripts naman. ‘Grabe naalala mo lahat!’ So nakwento na namin at nailagay na sa script yung iba. Wala pa kaming working title sa ngayon but I think this is gonna be shown either April or May,” she said.
