Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga have come a long way from being friends to almost lovers to back to being friends again. A lot of viewers enjoyed watching the two of them as they revealed some of their most memorable experiences together in a special He Said, She Said interview on Entertainment Live yesterday, January 2.

But other than that wala na yung talagang samaan ng loob,” Toni began when asked if there was a time that she really got irritated with him.

On Luis’s part, the fact that Toni turned him down even after three years of courtship never stood in the way of them enjoying each other’s company. But just like other good friends, they also have their share of petty quarrels every now and then. Alam ko lang parang nainis ako one time tapos for about a week kitang hindi kita nakakausap. Nangyari yun bago kita tinurn down,” he told Toni who laughed every time she was reminded of how Luis had been a persistent suitor of hers.

Their co-host and good friend Mariel Rodriguez, who was interviewing them, also prodded Luis to explain why he hasn’t given Toni her Christmas gift yet when he used to shower her with presents even if there’s no special occasion. But Luis was quick to say that he’s still looking for the perfect gift for Toni. Tsaka sakto magbi-birthday na din si Tintoy (his nickname for Toni) so isahan na lang para makatipid ako. Hahaha!

Incidentally, Luis and Toni will be reviving their much-loved team-up via Your Song Presents My Last Romance. When asked if it’s possible that they could eventually end up with each other, Toni didn’t seem to be opposed to the idea but she stressed that she’s just happy to be acting with Luis again. “Hindi natin alam. Only God knows and time will tell… Pero one thing na gusto ko dito sa pagtratrabaho namin ulit ni Luis, hindi sa makikita ninyo [yung dalawang paborito ninyong artista] na magkatrabaho ulit, but it’s the show and the story kung saan makikita niyo ulit yung two good friends on- and off-screen na magkasama ulit.”

Luis also let the viewers in on some of the exciting scenes that they should watch out for in this latest episode of Your Song.
