Pinoy Big Brother Big FiveABS-CBN reality show Pinoy Big Brother Double Up finally has its Big Five—four men and and one woman.

From the 28 housemates who entered the Big Brother house, they are now down to five. Melisa “Melai” Cantiveros, Paul Jake Castillo, Jason Francisco, Steve “Tibo” Jumalon and Johan Santos will compete to become the Big Winner in the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Big Night to be held on Valentine’s Day, February 14, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Pasay City.

The announcement was made at the final eviction held earlier tonight, February 6.

These five housemates have been in Big Brother’s house for almost four months now. Melai, Paul Jake and Jason entered the Big Brother house on Day 1, October 4, 2009. Johan and Tibo, on the other hand, entered the Big Brother house a week later, on Oct. 10, 2009.

Meanwhile, Mariel Sorino failed to make the Big Five after getting the lowest number of text and online votes.

FEMALE TREND. Melai, the only rose among the thorns, was the first to make it to the Big Five after winning the “Jump to the Big Night” competition.

The Big Winner will receive P1 million in cash, a house and lot worth P2.5 million, an Asian tour package, an LCD TV, and a franchise of a water-refilling station. He or she will also get to donate another P1 million to a charity of his/her choice. The four runners-up will also receive cash prizes and laptops.

Aside from the prizes of the Big Winner and the runners-up, a special prize was also given to Johan for winning the “White Room” challenge against Jason. Johan and his family received a two-storey town house in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

Past winners of Pinoy Big Brother were Nene Tamayo and Bea Saw. Will Melai keep the winning streak of female housemates, or will one of the four male housemates finally break this trend?
