Shaina Magdayao blocked off her schedule last Saturday, April 24, so she could attend the first birthday party of Ceana, the firstborn daughter of her older sister Vina Morales. The Little Mermaid-inspired party was held at the Manila Ocean Park at around 3 p.m. and lasted until early evening.

During the party, Shaina wore a blue-green floral dress, which was designed by Kat Corpus. When asked if she already wants to have kids of her own, Shaina said with a laugh, “Wag na muna, may pitong pamangkin na ako, e, hindi na kailangang dagdagan.”

Shaina said that she has yet to choose a gift for Ceana. She also mentioned that her sister Vina was very hands-on with the preparations of the party. “Kino-consult lang niya sa ‘kin yung prizes…pero talagang siya ang nagplano ng buong buo ng party.”

What is her birthday wish for her niece?

“Sana lumaki siya na matulungin na bata, we’re always naman here to support her. So hopefully kahit anong gusto niyang maging when she grows up, like all her dreams and her goals, sana ma-achieve niya yun.”

How does she bond with her nieces?

“Kami ng mga pamangkin ko, I bring them to my taping. Dahil masyado pa silang maliit, pag naggo-grocery ako, kasama ko yung dalawang pinakabata namin na pamangkin—that is Sofia and Ceana.”

Is Ceana exhibiting signs of being a potential artist someday?

“Mahilig siya sa music,” reveals the Star Magic talent. “Actually kasi nung nasa tummy pa lang siya ni Ate, pinaparinig na ni Ate ng mga classical music. So until now sa room niya, habang pinapatulog siya, merong classical music playing dun sa bahay.”

“Actually yung particular photo na yun, wala naman masama, e,” Shaina said. “Parang why would they be bothered? Ang nakaka-bother sa kanila yung bad things, what people say about me, like yung mga imbentong kuwento. More than ako, mas nahe-hurt sila and I think it’s normal.”

Did her family members ask her about the real score between her and John Lloyd? Shaina kept silent for a moment before answering, “Basta yun lang…they found out about it and there’s nothing wrong about it.”

She pointed out: “Hindi lang naman ako yung nasa business, di ba? We’ve been in the business for so long, so sanay na yung buong pamilya namin sa mga ganyan. Meron pa ngang mas malalang mga sinasabi about me, about my sister, when she was younger. As long as you know the truth, we can date everyone, we can look everyone in the eye. We know na there’s really nothing wrong.”

Did she and John Lloyd talk about that particular photo?

“Wag na nating pag-usapan,” pleaded Shaina.
